With its joyful orange iridescence and playful pattern, this vintage carnival glass jug is a real conversation starter. Made by British glassmaker Sowerby in their popular Lea design, it dates to the early 20th century and brings a perfect hit of colour and character to any corner of the home.
Sowerby was founded in Gateshead in 1846 and became one of the most respected names in British pressed glass. This jug is a lovely example of their early carnival glass production, a finish first introduced to mimic the shimmer of expensive Tiffany glass, but made accessible for everyday households.
Whether you style it on a kitchen dresser, perch it on a sunny windowsill, or pop in a few tiny flower sprigs for an effortless living room touch, this jug is a little slice of vintage joy.
Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

There is a very small chip on the inside edge of one of the scallops where the top layer of glass has come off.
